Red Onion Prices in West Kalimantan Highest in Indonesia (Friday, January 28, 2022)

The National Strategic Food Price Information Center recorded the average daily price of medium-sized shallots (per kg) in modern markets across several provinces at Rp 42,490 per kg, as of Friday, January 28, 2022. Overall, the average this week decreased compared to last week's average of Rp 42,520 per kg.

The daily price of medium-sized shallots in modern markets in West Kalimantan was the highest in Indonesia at Rp 59,500 per kg. Compared to a month ago, the price of medium-sized shallots in this province remained unchanged. The highest price ever recorded in this region was Rp 90,400 per kg.

Meanwhile, in Gorontalo's modern markets, medium-sized shallots were sold at Rp 58,250 per kg, making it the second most expensive in the country.

Following in third place, the price of medium-sized shallots in West Papua was Rp 58,000 per kg, North Maluku Rp 50,200 per kg, and West Sumatra Rp 43,950 per kg.

Meanwhile, 10 provinces had medium-sized shallot sales below the national average. The three provinces with the lowest selling prices for medium-sized shallots were East Java, Jambi, and North Kalimantan.
