Today's Food Prices, January 28, in South Sumatra: Red Chili and Rice Prices Rise

Prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Wednesday (January 28, 2026) at 17:38 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 6 increased and 1 decreased.

Commodities with price increases include medium rice, broiler eggs, red bird's eye chili, curly red chili, and broiler chicken meat.

Meanwhile, only Honan garlic decreased compared to yesterday's price.

Curly red chili recorded the highest surge of Rp1,917 (5.0%) to Rp40,250 per kg. Meanwhile, Honan garlic price dropped the most by Rp584 (1.57%) to Rp36,583 per kg.
