Current Food Prices in East Java: Chili Peppers Up, Cooking Oil Down

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (2/4/2025) at 16.03 WIB, out of 23 commodities, 13 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include pure beef, table salt, broiler chicken, red chilies, and granulated sugar.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as packaged cooking oil, premium rice, skipjack tuna, garlic bulbs, and corn at the farmer level decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices surged the highest at Rp22,271 (26.22%) to Rp107,200 per kg. The price of skipjack tuna decreased the most at Rp2,937 (9.27%) to Rp28,750 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 23 food commodities in East Java according to Bapanas on April 2, 2025, at 16.03 WIB.

9. Milkfish: Rp32,158 per kg (down 2.98%)
10. Skipjack Tuna: Rp28,750 per kg (down 9.27%)
