Ministry of Environment and Forestry: Number of Hotspots in Indonesia Reaches 832 In the Last 24 Hours (Monday, November 3, 2025)

Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF), monitoring in the last 24 hours showed 832 hotspots detected in Indonesia. This number of hotspots decreased by 330 points compared to the previous period.

The data is the result of Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Monday (3/11/2025) at 11:53 AM WIB. Of the 832 detected hotspots, 37 points have a high hotspot confidence level, 767 points are medium scale, and 28 points are low scale.

The hotspot confidence level is divided into 3 scales. The low scale has a range of 0 - 29, the medium scale 30 - 79, and the high scale 80 - 100. The higher the hotspot confidence level, the higher the likelihood of forest and land fires occurring in a certain area.

The most detected hotspots are in East Kalimantan with 94 points. East Nusa Tenggara ranks second with 93 hotspots. West Sumatra is in third place with 86 hotspots.

As many as 76 hotspots were detected in Southeast Sulawesi, followed by Maluku with 58 hotspots, and Bengkulu and South Sumatra each having 58 and 56 detected hotspots.

Hotspots are coordinate points of an area that have a higher surface temperature compared to their surroundings, and do not represent the number of forest and land fire incidents.

However, a large number of clustered hotspots in an area indicates the occurrence of forest and land fires. This means that hotspot data from remote sensing satellite detection is still the most effective for monitoring forest and land fires over a large area.
