Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in South Hulu Sungai River Increased by 0.62% in the Last Year

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency, South Kalimantan, reached 6.26% in 2023.

This figure is up 0.62% from the previous year's 5.64%, and up 2.11% over the past five years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.53% in 2023. This means that the PoU in Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needs for a normal, active, and healthy life. This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that the population in Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency who consume food but lack sufficient energy intake does not reach 6.26% of the total population.
