Prevalence of Food Consumption Inadequacy in Tanggamus Decreased by 1.14% in the Last 5 Years

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Tanggamus Regency, Lampung, was 10.65% in 2024.

This figure increased by 1.46% from the previous year's 9.19%, while in the last 5 years, it decreased by 1.14%.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Tanggamus Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food insecurity and nutritional vulnerability.

This means that the population in Tanggamus Regency who consumes food but has insufficient energy needs does not reach 10.65% of the total population.
