MSMEs, Main Suppliers of the Free Nutritional Meal Program in Indonesia in Early 2026

According to a report by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), as of January 20, 2026, there are 61,857 suppliers involved in fulfilling the needs of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program in Indonesia.

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the main suppliers for this program, totaling 26,899 units.

Additionally, there are 7,098 cooperatives, 806 Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), 82 Joint Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDesma), 199 Merah Putih Village Cooperatives, and 26,773 other suppliers who are individuals.

During the same period, BGN recorded 20,617 partners managing 21,102 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPGs), involving 887,048 personnel.

BGN also explained that SPPG kitchens currently operate in various types of buildings, ranging from new constructions, the utilization of old buildings, as well as residential homes, shophouses, offices, warehouses, restaurants, hotels, and even showrooms that have been repurposed into MBG kitchens.

"Currently, new buildings constitute the majority, exceeding 5,203 units, and I believe many more buildings are still undergoing verification," said Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana during a meeting with DPR Commission IX on Tuesday (January 20, 2026).
