Ministry of Environment and Forestry: Number of Hotspots in Indonesia Reached 92 in Last 24 Hours (Thursday, 27 November 2025)

Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring in the last 24 hours showed 92 hotspots detected in Indonesia. This number of hotspots decreased by 161 points compared to the previous period.

The data is the result of Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Thursday (27/11/2025) at 11:12 AM WIB. Of the 92 detected hotspots, 2 points have a high hotspot confidence level and 90 points are of medium scale.

Hotspot confidence levels are divided into 3 scales. The low scale ranges from 0 - 29, the medium scale from 30 - 79, and the high scale from 80 - 100. The higher the hotspot confidence level, the higher the possibility of forest and land fires occurring in a certain area.

The most detected hotspots were in Jambi with 27 points. South Sumatra ranked second with 23 hotspots. Maluku was in third place with 8 hotspots.

A total of 6 hotspots were detected in East Nusa Tenggara, followed by North Maluku with 6 hotspots, and Central Papua and Bangka Belitung Islands each had 5 and 4 detected hotspots, respectively.

Hotspots are coordinate points of an area that have a higher surface temperature than their surroundings, and not the number of forest and land fire incidents.

However, a large number of clustered hotspots in an area indicates the occurrence of forest and land fires. This means that hotspot data from remote sensing satellite detection is still the most effective in monitoring forest and land fires over a wide area.
