Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in Cilacap Decreased by 1.39% in the Last Year

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Cilacap Regency, Central Java, was 10.9% in 2024.

This figure decreased by 1.39% from the previous year's 12.29%, and by 1.86% over the last 5 years.

The average PoU for Indonesia was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Cilacap Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity conditions.

This means that less than 10.9% of the total population in Cilacap Regency consumes food but has insufficient energy intake.
