Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in East Waringin City Decreased by 0.1% in the Last Year

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in East Waringin City Regency, Central Kalimantan was 7.47% in 2025.

This figure decreased by 0.1% from the previous year's 7.57%, while over the last 5 years it has decreased by 3.15%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that the PoU in East Waringin City Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition security conditions.

This means that residents of East Waringin City Regency who consume food but do not meet their energy needs make up less than 7.47% of the total population.
