Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in Landak District Decreased by 44.25% in the Last Year

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Landak Regency, West Kalimantan, reached 10.43% in 2023.

This figure is down 8.28% from the previous year's 18.71%, and down 12.59% over the past five years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.53% in 2023. This means that the PoU in Landak Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes insufficient food to meet the energy needs for a normal, active, and healthy life. This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that the percentage of residents in Landak Regency who consume food but lack sufficient energy needs does not reach 10.43% of the total population.

Compared to 13 other regencies/cities in West Kalimantan Province, Landak Regency's PoU ranks third. The area with the lowest PoU (top rank) is Singkawang City (9.29%), and the highest (last rank) is Sekadau Regency (20.1%).
