South Kalimantan Had the Highest National Divorce Rate in June 2021

Based on data from the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), the proportion of residents in South Kalimantan with the status of "living divorced" reached 2.05% of its population of 4.1 million as of June 2021. This figure is the highest compared to other provinces in Indonesia.

West Nusa Tenggara is in second place with 2.03% of its 5.41 million population having the status of living divorced. 2.02% of East Java's 40.99 million population also have the status of living divorced.

In Central Java, 1.86% of the 37.23 million population have the status of living divorced. 1.73% of West Java's 47.59 million population also have the same status.

The next highest rate of living divorced is in Yogyakarta, at 1.68% of a population of 3.68 million. Then, the population with the status of living divorced in Bangka Belitung reached 1.66% of its population of 1.46 million.

1.65% of East Kalimantan's 3.8 million population also have the status of living divorced. In West Sumatra, 1.44% of the 5.6 million population have the status of living divorced. Meanwhile, the population with the status of living divorced in Jakarta reached 1.42% of its population of 11.25 million.

The number of people with the status of living divorced in these 10 provinces reached 2.93 million. This proportion accounts for 73.7% of the total national population with the status of living divorced, which reached 3.97 million. The average rate of living divorced in Indonesia is 1.46% of the total population of 272.23 million.
