Average Length of Schooling for Pekalongan Regency Residents Reaches 7.5 Years in 2025

The average length of schooling (ALS) for residents aged 25 years and over in Pekalongan, Central Java, was 7.5 years in 2025.

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the ALS for residents in the region was below the average for Central Java Province, which was 8.15 years in 2025.

Pekalongan residents' ALS increased by 0.02 years (0.27%) compared to the previous year, which was 7.48 years. Meanwhile, in the last five years, the ALS rose by 0.59 years (8.54%).

This ALS indicates that the average Pekalongan resident only attended school up to grade VII. However, this ALS is still below the national average ALS, which was 9.07 years in 2025.

Compared to 34 other regencies/cities in Central Java Province, Pekalongan's ALS was in the 27th position. Other regions in the province with the highest ALS include Salatiga City (11.49 years), while the lowest ALS was Brebes Regency (6.61 years).
