Prevalence of Food Consumption Inadequacy in Cianjur Decreased by 0.65% in the Last 5 Years

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (Prevalence of Undernourishment/PoU) in Cianjur Regency, West Java, was 5.37% in 2024.

This figure decreased by 1.65% from the previous year's 7.02%, while in the last 5 years, it decreased by 0.65%.

Indonesia's average PoU was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Cianjur Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food insecurity and nutritional status.
