Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in Morowali Rose 1.45% in the Last 5 Years

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi reached 6.42% in 2025.

This figure rose by 2.28% from the previous year's 4.14%, while in the last 5 years it increased by 1.45%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that PoU in Morowali Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to observe food and nutrition security conditions.

This means that residents of Morowali Regency who consume food but do not meet their energy needs make up less than 6.42% of the total population.
