West Papua Has the Lowest Percentage of Separated/Divorced Residents

A report from the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) reveals that 3.97 million Indonesians had the marital status of "living divorced" by the end of June 2021. This figure represents 1.46% of Indonesia's total population of 272.29 million.

West Papua ranked highest as the province with the lowest number of people with the status of "living divorced" in Indonesia, with 6,696 individuals, or 0.16% of the total number of "living divorced" cases in Indonesia.

Maluku ranked second with 7,873 individuals, followed by North Maluku with 9,118 individuals with the status of "living divorced".

Next, North Kalimantan and Gorontalo had 9,224 and 13,025 individuals with the status of "living divorced", respectively. East Nusa Tenggara, West Sulawesi, and Papua recorded 13,838, 16,458, and 19,317 individuals with the status of "living divorced", respectively.

Generally, the population with the status of "living divorced" is dominated by people in Eastern Indonesia. However, Bengkulu province ranked tenth lowest with 21,155 individuals with this status.
