117 Hotspots Detected in Indonesia in the Last 24 Hours (Thursday, November 20, 2025)

Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring over the last 24 hours shows that 117 hotspots have been detected in Indonesia. This number of hotspots has increased by 49 points compared to the previous period.

The data is the result of Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Thursday (November 20, 2025) at 11:18 AM WIB. Of the 117 hotspots detected, all 117 were of moderate scale.

Hotspot confidence levels are divided into 3 scales. Low scale has a range of 0 - 29, moderate scale 30 - 79, and high scale 80 - 100. The higher the hotspot confidence level, the higher the likelihood of forest and land fires in a particular area.

The highest number of hotspots were detected in North Maluku with 44 points. East Nusa Tenggara ranked second with 21 hotspots. East Kalimantan was in third place with 19 hotspots.

7 hotspots were detected in South Sulawesi, followed by Central Sulawesi with 6 hotspots, and Southeast Sulawesi and Central Java each having 6 and 3 hotspots detected.

A hotspot is a coordinate point in an area that has a higher surface temperature than its surroundings, and it does not represent the number of forest and land fire incidents.

However, a large number of clustered hotspots in an area indicates the occurrence of forest and land fires. This means that hotspot data from remote sensing satellites remains the most effective for monitoring forest and land fires over large areas.
