Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in Ambon City Decreased by 0.01% in the Last Year

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Ambon City, Maluku, was 24.12% in 2023.

This figure is down 0.01% from the previous year's 24.13%, while it has increased by 4.27% over the past five years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.53% in 2023. This means that the PoU in Ambon City is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needs for a normal, active, and healthy life. This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.
