Bogor Regency is the most populous region in West Java Province, with 5.56 million inhabitants (11.14%) of the total population.

This is followed by Bandung Regency with 3.75 million inhabitants (7.51%), Bekasi Regency with 3.2 million inhabitants (6.41%), and Sukabumi Regency with 2.79 million inhabitants (5.59%).

Meanwhile, Banjar City is the regency/city with the smallest population, at only 208,310 inhabitants (0.42%).

Administratively, West Java Province is divided into 9 cities and 18 regencies, with 40 districts comprising 19 urban villages and 416 villages.

Based on marital status, 49.61% of the population of West Java Province is married, while 44.09% are unmarried. The population with the status of divorced and widowed reached 2.04% and 4.26%, respectively.
