Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in Nagan Raya Decreased by 2.52% in the Last Year

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh reached 3.43% in 2023.

This figure is down 2.52% from the previous year's 5.95%, and down 7.81% over the past five years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.53% in 2023. This means that the PoU in Nagan Raya Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needs for a normal, active, and healthy life. This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that the percentage of residents in Nagan Raya Regency who consume food but lack sufficient energy intake is less than 3.43% of the total population.

Compared to 22 other regencies/cities in Aceh Province, Nagan Raya Regency has the lowest PoU. The region with the highest PoU (last rank) is North Aceh Regency (14.24%).
