Prevalence of Food Consumption Inadequacy in Bojonegoro Rises 1.61% in Last 5 Years

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Bojonegoro Regency, East Java, reached 9.97% in 2024.

This figure increased by 1.88% from the previous year's 8.09%, while in the last 5 years, it rose by 1.61%.

Indonesia's average PoU was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Bojonegoro Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity conditions.

This implies that the population in Bojonegoro Regency who consumes food but whose energy needs are insufficient does not reach 9.97% of the total population.
