Prevalence of Food Consumption Inadequacy in Wonogiri Decreased by 4.8% in the Last 5 Years

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (Prevalence of Undernourishment/PoU) in Wonogiri Regency, Central Java, reached 10.25% in 2024.

This figure decreased by 0.55% from the previous year's 10.8%, and by 4.8% in the last 5 years.

Indonesia's average PoU was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Wonogiri Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity conditions.

This means that less than 10.25% of the total population in Wonogiri Regency consumes food but lacks sufficient energy.
