Karawang Population's Food Consumption Inadequacy Rate Decreased by 5.1% in 2024

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Karawang Regency, West Java, reached 5.1% in 2024.

This figure decreased by 0.83% from the previous year's 5.93%, while in the last 5 years, it increased by 1.68%.

Indonesia's average PoU was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Karawang Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.
