Data as of Wednesday, February 8, 2023, shows the national average examination is recorded at 111.29 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Cirebon City, Gresik, Karawang, Banjarmasin City, and Indragiri Hulu, with specimen numbers per week of 928, 907, 894, 887, and 882 respectively.
Cirebon City is ranked first. With a population of 322,250, the number of specimens examined here is recorded at 928 per week. The latest positive rate is 0.75 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Gresik. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined is 907 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.42 percent, or has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Then, Karawang with 894 specimens per week, Banjarmasin City with a population of 724,790, recorded 887 specimens per week, and Indragiri Hulu with a population of 453,480, recorded 882 specimens per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on a recapitulation of national Covid data, there are 26 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report the number of daily specimens examined with higher figures than before. Meanwhile, one regency/city recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week's examination.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Banjarmasin City, Indragiri Hulu, and Bandar Lampung City, with 887, 882, and 800 specimens examined respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission in some areas has decreased, the government urges everyone to continue to participate in reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
