Residents of East Seram Regency spend Rp654.09 per capita per week on sweet potatoes.

In East Seram Regency in 2023, per capita weekly household expenditure on sweet potatoes was Rp654.09. This figure is significantly higher than the previous year's Rp595.56 per capita per week.

The five largest per capita weekly expenditures on tubers in East Seram Regency, in descending order, were: sago (not cassava) Rp2,441.63, cassava Rp864.68, sweet potato Rp654.09, taro Rp184.2, and other tubers Rp8.63.

Per capita average expenditure refers to the cost of consumption for all household members over a month, including purchases, gifts, and self-produced goods, divided by the number of household members. Household consumption is categorized as food and non-food consumption, regardless of the source of goods, and is limited to household expenses only, excluding business expenses or expenditures given to others.

Food consumption expenditure is calculated weekly, while non-food consumption is calculated monthly and for the past 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. The per capita average consumption/expenditure figures presented in BPS publications are derived by dividing the total consumption of all households (both consuming food and non-food items) by the total population.

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the average per capita expenditure in this regency reached Rp1.2 million per capita per month in March 2023. This figure increased by 28.33% compared to March 2022, which was Rp932,400 per capita per month.

Based on region, the highest per capita expenditure on sweet potatoes was in Lanny Jaya Regency, and the lowest was in West Manggarai Regency. East Seram Regency ranked 41st in terms of sweet potato expenditure. The national average per capita weekly expenditure on sweet potatoes is Rp257.5.
