India follows in second place. Compared to the previous week, deaths in the country grew by 33.33 percent, totaling eight deaths. Daily statistics show a 14.29% increase in deaths compared to the previous day's seven deaths.
Next, deaths in the Philippines increased by 17.86%, deaths in Lebanon decreased by 0%, and deaths in Saudi Arabia decreased by 9.09%.
Looking at the number of reported deaths, the highest number of deaths in the past seven days in Asia occurred in Japan, with 1,174 deaths. Death reports in this country decreased by 24.89% compared to the previous week. Following Japan, Taiwan reported 409 deaths (down 17.04%), South Korea reported 136 deaths (down 15%), the Philippines reported 99 deaths (up 17.86%), and Hong Kong reported 28 deaths (down 34.88%).
The total number of deaths in Asia over the past seven days was 1,956. This accounts for 36.24 percent of global deaths caused by the COVID-19 virus, totaling 5,397. The number of deaths in Asia decreased compared to the previous seven-day accumulation of 2,475 deaths.
