The top five, starting from the highest, are Cimahi City, Kediri City, Jayapura City, Deli Serdang Regency, and Batam City, with 989, 981, 957, 948, and 912 specimens per week, respectively.
Cimahi City ranks first. With a population of 610,490, the number of specimens examined is 989 per week. The latest positive rate is 8.89 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Kediri City. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined is 981 per week. The positive rate in this region is 1.81 percent, also down from the previous week.
Furthermore, the number of specimens examined in Jayapura City is 957 per week; Deli Serdang Regency, 948 specimens per week; and Batam City, 912 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 95 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 171 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimen examinations compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, regions with the highest number of specimen examinations include Jayapura City, Deli Serdang Regency, and Batam City, with 957, 948, and 912 specimens, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
