Average Length of Schooling for Lingga Regency Residents Still Below National Average

The average length of schooling (ALS) for residents aged 25 years and over in Lingga, Riau Islands, was 7.87 years in 2025.

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the ALS of the region's population was below the Riau Islands Province average of 10.72 years in 2025.

Lingga's population ALS increased by 0.27 years (3.55%) compared to the previous year's 7.6 years. Meanwhile, over the last five years, the ALS rose by 1.2 years (17.99%).

This ALS indicates that the average Lingga resident only attends school up to the 7th grade level. However, this ALS is still below the national average ALS of 9.07 years in 2025.

Compared to the 6 other regencies/cities in Riau Islands Province, Lingga's ALS ranks 6th. Other regions in the province with the highest ALS are Batam City (11.34 years), while the lowest ALS is Anambas Islands Regency (7.79 years).
