Weekly Confirmed Positive Cases in NTT Highest in Kupang

The highest increase in confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in NTT is currently in Kupang, with 11.28 cases per 100,000 population per week as of Saturday, January 22, 2022. This figure is 1.5 cases higher than the second-highest region.

The COVID-19 transmission situation in Kupang does not appear to be improving. This is indicated by the number of cases this week, which is still higher than the previous week's figure of 0.74 cases per 100,000 population per week.

Next in second place is Kupang City. This city recorded a weekly confirmation rate of nine cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Compared to last week, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases this week is still higher, meaning there is no visible improvement.

Rounding out the top five, besides the two regions above, are Nagekeo, West Sumba, and West Manggarai. Each recorded weekly confirmations of four cases, 1.48 cases, and 1.37 cases, respectively.

According to the Ministry of Health's list, the next five regencies/cities in the top 10 are Manggarai, North Central Timor, Ende, and East Manggarai. These regions recorded an average increase of over 0.68 cases per 100,000 population.

The good news from this province is that six regencies/cities recorded no increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population per week.

Other information from today's daily COVID-19 data statistics is that 190 regencies/cities in Indonesia recorded a higher increase compared to last week, and 83 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly confirmations than the previous week.
