Based on national Covid-19 data, 154 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests in the last week, exceeding the national average. As of Monday, December 19, 2022, the national average was 147.63 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Sukabumi (964 people), Tasikmalaya (964 people), Cimahi City (939 people), Yogyakarta City (923 people), and Surakarta City (911 people).
Sukabumi ranks first, with 964 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 4.15 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Tasikmalaya follows, with 964 people tested per week in efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate is 3.22 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Cimahi City (population 610,490) recorded 939 tests per week; Yogyakarta City (population 449,890) recorded 923 tests per week; and Surakarta City recorded 911 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 137 regencies/cities actively reporting a higher number of weekly tests than the previous week. Conversely, 214 regencies/cities recorded fewer tests than the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of weekly tests include Batam City (905 people), Deli Serdang (874 people), and Jayapura City (774 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
