The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 180 districts/cities with a seven-day positivity rate above the national average, currently recorded at 4.26 percent (data as of Sunday, December 18, 2022).
The top five districts/cities with a seven-day positivity rate exceeding 25 percent are Banggai Kepulauan (42.11 percent), Tojo Una Una (40 percent), Toli Toli (39.29 percent), Sumba Tengah (35.71 percent), and Tolikara (25 percent).
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the seven-day positivity rate in most districts/cities outside Java. 138 districts/cities recorded a higher seven-day positivity rate than the previous day, while 128 districts/cities recorded a lower seven-day positivity rate.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest seven-day positivity rates include Banggai Kepulauan (42.11 percent), Tojo Una Una (40 percent), and Toli Toli (39.29 percent).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
