Average Length of Schooling for Wonogiri Residents Increased to 7.85 Years

The average length of schooling (ALS) for residents aged 25 and above in Wonogiri, Central Java, was 7.85 years in 2025.

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the ALS for residents in the region was below the average for Central Java Province, which was 8.15 years in 2025.

Wonogiri residents' ALS increased by 0.17 years (2.21%) compared to the previous year, when it was 7.68 years. Meanwhile, in the last five years, the ALS rose by 0.52 years (7.09%).

This ALS indicates that Wonogiri residents, on average, only attended school up to the seventh grade. However, this ALS is still below the national average ALS of 9.07 years in 2025.

Compared to 34 other regencies/cities in Central Java Province, Wonogiri's ALS is ranked 23rd. Other regions in the province with the highest ALS are Salatiga City (11.49 years), while the lowest ALS is Brebes Regency (6.61 years).
