The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) noted that at least two regencies/cities have a Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) above 60%. Nationally, the average BOR this week is 3.69 percent. This is a decrease compared to last week's figure of 5.11 percent (data as of Monday, January 2, 2023).
The top five regencies/cities with COVID-19 BOR exceeding 52.5 percent are Fakfak, Kutai Barat, Tulang Bawang, Bima, and Muna, with values of 100 percent, 67.23 percent, 56.41 percent, 56.12 percent, and 52.5 percent respectively.
A national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that the BOR in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. A daily BOR higher than the previous day was recorded in 33 regencies/cities, while 88 regencies/cities recorded a lower BOR.
Areas outside Java with the highest BOR include Fakfak, Kutai Barat, and Tulang Bawang, with BORs of 100 percent, 67.23 percent, and 56.41 percent respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
