Average Length of Schooling in Pelalawan Rises to 8.96 Years

The average length of schooling (ALS) for residents aged 25 and over in Pelalawan, Riau reached 8.96 years in 2024.

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the ALS of the region''s population is below the Riau Province average, which reached 9.43 years in 2024.

Pelalawan''s ALS increased by 0.23 years (2.63%) compared to the previous year''s 8.73 years. Meanwhile, in the last five years, the ALS has increased by 0.47 years (5.54%).

This ALS indicates that the average Pelalawan resident only attends school up to the 8th grade. This ALS is better than the national average ALS of 8.85 years in 2024.

Compared to 11 other regencies/cities in Riau Province, Pelalawan''s ALS is in 7th position. Other regions in the province with the highest ALS are Pekanbaru City (11.96 years), while the lowest ALS is Indragiri Hilir Regency (7.32 years).
