At that time, Ambon's air quality was categorized as "good," meaning pollutant levels were very minimal. Mamuju followed in second place with an air quality index of 40, followed by Bulungan in third place with an index of 41.

Based on the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 14 of 2020 concerning the Air Pollutant Standard Index, the KLHK classifies the air quality index as follows:

* 51-100: Moderate
* 101-200: Unhealthy
* 201-300: Very Unhealthy
* 300+: Hazardous
Therefore, on Friday, October 13th, 2023, at 7 PM WIB, cities with good air quality were Ambon, Mamuju, Bulungan, Jayapura, Banda Aceh, Ternate, and Manokwari. The other three cities, Samarinda, Balikpapan, and Gorontalo, had moderate air quality.
