The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 113 districts/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 4.51 per 100,000 population/week, data as of Saturday, August 27, 2022.
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 46.48 per 100,000 population/week are Mahakam Ulu, Bekasi City, Central Jakarta City, South Tangerang City, and North Jakarta City, each with values of 52.19 per 100,000 population/week, 46.48 per 100,000 population/week, 46.48 per 100,000 population/week, 46.48 per 100,000 population/week, and 46.48 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. Seventy-nine districts/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than previously, while 79 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Mahakam Ulu, Tomohon City, and Fakfak, with confirmed positive cases of 52.19 per 100,000 population/week, 41.66 per 100,000 population/week, and 41.21 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
