Indonesia Ranks 6th in Asia in Total Tests

As of Wednesday, January 5, 2022, a total of 64.16 million people in Indonesia had been tested for the Covid-19 coronavirus. This figure places Indonesia sixth in Asia for the number of tests conducted, a ranking it has held for the past week, according to Worldometer.

Globally, Asia accounts for 36.02 percent of the total number of tests conducted worldwide.

India leads Asia in the number of tests conducted, with a total of 682.43 million. China is second with 160 million tests, followed by Turkey in third place with 119.79 million tests.

The United Arab Emirates is in fourth place with 113.01 million tests, and Vietnam is fifth with 75.17 million tests.

Within Southeast Asia, Indonesia ranks second. Vietnam is first with 75.17 million tests, followed by Malaysia in third place with 41.44 million tests, the Philippines in fourth place with 25.37 million tests, and Singapore in fifth place with 21.1 million tests.
