Today's COVID-19 Provincial Data Update: West Java Reports the Highest Increase (Sunday, March 6, 2022)

Indonesia's Covid-19 cases increased by 24,867 today, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 5.75 million as of Sunday, March 6, 2022. The five provinces with the highest increases today are West Java, DKI Jakarta, Central Java, East Java, and Yogyakarta.

The following are the provinces with the highest increase in Covid-19 cases today

1. West Java saw an increase of 4,972 cases

West Java ranks first. The increase in cases here was 4,972, or a 0.48 percent increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total, which reached 1.04 million. With this addition, the total number of cases in West Java is now 1.04 million.

Unfortunately, in addition to recording a high number of new cases, West Java also recorded 25 deaths. Thus, the total number of deaths during the Covid-19 pandemic in West Java has reached 15,242. The seven-day positive rate is 16.95 percent, and the BOR for Covid-19 hospitals is reported at 38 percent.

2. DKI Jakarta saw an increase of 3,669 cases

Next is DKI Jakarta. The increase in Covid-19 cases here was 3,669. The seven-day positive rate in this region is 13.64 percent. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested for Covid-19 in this province is recorded at 211.34 per week.
3. Central Java saw an increase of 2,539 cases

4. East Java saw an increase of 2,325 cases

Fourth is East Java. In this province, today's increase in cases was 2,325, or a 0.42 percent increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total of 551,200.

Unfortunately, in addition to recording a high number of new cases, East Java also recorded 42 deaths. Thus, the total number of deaths during the Covid-19 pandemic in East Java has reached 30,687.

The trend of case development in this region over the past week has decreased. This can be seen from the lower confirmation rate per 100,000 population compared to the previous week.

Similarly, the positive rate in this region is lower than before. According to the Ministry of Health, the BOR for Covid-19 hospitals in this province is 30 percent.

5. Yogyakarta saw an increase of 1,771 cases

Fifth is Yogyakarta. In this province, today's increase in cases was 1,771, or a 0.87 percent increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total of 202,860.

In addition, 20 more Covid-19 deaths were reported in Yogyakarta. Thus, the total number of deaths during the Covid-19 pandemic in Yogyakarta has reached 5,496.

6. Banten saw an increase of 1,204 cases

7. North Sumatra saw an increase of 946 cases
