Weekly Expenditure of Sidoarjo Regency Residents on Root Crops

Household expenditure on other tubers in Sidoarjo Regency in 2023 was Rp13.9 per capita per week. This figure is lower than the previous year's expenditure, which was recorded at Rp15.17 per capita per week.

The five largest household expenditure items for tubers in Sidoarjo Regency, in descending order, were: potatoes at Rp885.93 per capita per week, cassava at Rp497.19 per capita per week, sweet potatoes at Rp323.76 per capita per week, taro at Rp29.09 per capita per week, and the lowest expenditure was for gaplek at Rp4.5 per capita per week.

Average per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members over a month, including purchases, gifts, and self-produced goods, divided by the number of household members. Household consumption is categorized into food and non-food consumption, regardless of the origin of the goods, and is limited to household needs only, excluding consumption/expenditure for business purposes or given to other parties.

Expenditure on food consumption is calculated weekly, while non-food consumption is calculated monthly and for the past 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. The average per capita consumption/expenditure figures presented in BPS publications are obtained by dividing the total consumption of all households (both consuming food and non-food) by the total population.

Based on region, the highest household expenditure on other tubers was in Buton Selatan Regency, and the lowest was in Dharmasraya Regency. Sidoarjo Regency's expenditure on other tubers ranked 174th. Meanwhile, the national average per capita expenditure on other tubers was Rp194.5 per capita per week.
