The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 167 districts/cities with a seven-day positivity rate above the national average, currently recorded at 3.93 percent (data as of Wednesday, December 21, 2022).
The five districts/cities with the highest seven-day positivity rates, exceeding 35 percent, are Banggai Kepulauan (58.82 percent), Bener Meriah (50 percent), Balangan (37.72 percent), Sigi (35.48 percent), and Halmahera Utara (35 percent).
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows that the seven-day positivity rate in most districts/cities outside Java has decreased. However, 120 districts/cities recorded a higher seven-day positivity rate than the previous day, while 147 districts/cities recorded a lower seven-day positivity rate.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest seven-day positivity rates include Banggai Kepulauan (58.82 percent), Bener Meriah (50 percent), and Balangan (37.72 percent).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
