The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Indramayu (995 specimens), Deli Serdang (995 specimens), Cimahi City (948 specimens), Jayapura City (946 specimens), and Kediri (943 specimens).
Indramayu ranks first, with 995 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 2.26 percent, lower than the previous week's percentage.
Next is Deli Serdang, which examined 995 specimens per week in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is 1.52 percent, also lower than the previous week.
Cimahi City recorded 948 specimens examined per week, Jayapura City 946 specimens, and Kediri 943 specimens.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 103 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 149 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, regions with the highest number of specimens examined include Deli Serdang (995 specimens), Jayapura City (946 specimens), and Kupang City (927 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
