Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that the value added in agriculture divided by the number of workers in the agricultural sector in South Sumatra is below the national average.
The 2023 statistical data publication shows South Sumatra recorded a figure of Rp41.89 million per worker, ranking 31st out of 34 other provinces. This figure is higher than the previous year's figure of Rp38.74 million per worker.
Riau occupies the first position. The value added in agriculture divided by the number of workers in the agricultural sector in this region is Rp235.35 million per worker.
Next are East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, and North Sulawesi. Papua occupies the lowest position with a value added in agriculture divided by the number of workers in the agricultural sector of Rp17.41 million per worker.

* Bangka Belitung Islands: Rp106.36 million per worker
* Jakarta: Rp106.09 million per worker
* Gorontalo: Rp103.08 million per worker
* Southeast Sulawesi: Rp97.37 million per worker
Overall, the average value added in agriculture divided by the number of workers in the agricultural sector in Indonesia is Rp81.95 million per worker in 2023.
