Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in Kota Baru Reaches 4.12% in 2025

Quoting data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Kota Baru Regency, South Kalimantan reached 4.12% in 2025.

This figure increased by 0.42% from the previous year's 3.7%, while in the last 5 years it rose by 2.02%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that the PoU in Kota Baru Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition security conditions.
