The revitalization process of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) has been underway since last January. PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), or InJourney, the parent company of the Tourism BUMN Holding, estimates that the revitalization will be completed by October 2022.
In addition to being an institution for the preservation of Indonesian culture, TMII is also a provider of educational and recreational facilities. One of the educational and recreational facilities provided is a museum. To date, TMII has 15 museums, 2 of which are closed: the Telecommunications Museum and the Oil and Gas Museum.
Entrance fees to the museums vary considerably and are very affordable. The National Sports Museum has the cheapest entrance fee, at only Rp 2,000. Meanwhile, the most expensive ticket is for the IPTEK Science Center, at Rp 27,500. The Museum Penerangan (Information Museum) is free of charge.
Besides museums, TMII also has other facilities and attractions such as a bird park, a freshwater aquarium, the Taman Legenda Keong Mas (Golden Snail Legend Park), SnowBay Water Park, and more.
Currently, TMII is still open to tourists. However, the operating hours during the revitalization period are still under review, as the work is expected to become more complex and extensive in the coming months.
