According to data from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's Culture Agency, compiled by Databoks, the number of visitors to museum destinations in Jakarta has shown growth after the Covid-19 pandemic.
From 2020 to 2022, the number of visitors was relatively low. This period marked the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, leading to restrictions on public activities.
During that time, visitor data for museum destinations in Jakarta, as stated in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Culture Agency's Strategic Plan 2023-2026, was also incomplete.
Entering 2023, activities at Jakarta's museums began to recover, indicated by an increase in visitor data reaching 1.35 million visitors.
Meanwhile, in 2024, the total number of museum visitors in Jakarta aged over 10 years rose to 1.5 million people.
Last year, the Indonesia Science Center (PP-Iptek) was the most visited destination with a total of 222,478 visitors, followed by the Jakarta History Museum and Bank Indonesia Museum with 215,353 and 207,537 visitors, respectively.
