Indonesia is one of the world's largest coffee producing countries. According to the International Coffee Organization, Indonesian coffee production in 2020 was below that of Brazil, Vietnam, and Colombia.
Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), in 2021 Indonesia exported 384,510 tons of coffee to various countries, with a total value of US$849.37 million.
The United States (US) was the main destination for national coffee exports, with a volume of 57,690 tons, or 15% of total exports last year. The value reached US$202.35 million.
The next largest destination country was Egypt, with a coffee export volume of 48,500 tons valued at US$89.08 million. This was followed by Malaysia with a volume of 29,060 tons valued at US$49.1 million.
Coffee exports to Japan reached 27,300 tons valued at US$65 million, exports to Italy reached 24,590 tons valued at US$42.66 million, and exports to India reached 22,100 tons valued at US$32.05 million.
Following these were exports to Belgium (14,430 tons valued at US$44.83 million), Georgia (13,390 tons valued at US$23.3 million), Germany (13,330 tons valued at US$30.4 million), and the United Kingdom (12,260 tons valued at US$25.72 million).
