According to a report by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), Indonesia's national oil export value reached US$1.99 billion in 2021. This figure is up 37.09% from US$1.45 billion in 2020.
The largest oil commodity export value in 2020-2021 originated from Riau Province. In 2020, it was US$384.1 million, increasing by 11.3% to US$586.2 million in 2021.
Riau is also Indonesia's largest oil-producing province, producing over 365,000 barrels per day. In 2021, oil exports from Riau accounted for 29.36% of the total national export value.
The next largest oil export origin was Riau Islands Province, with US$583.4 million in 2021. This amount increased by 47.41% from US$288.7 million the previous year.
Following that is Central Java, with oil export value reaching US$421 million in 2021. This value also increased by 11.62% from US$236 million in 2020.
The combined oil export value from other provinces amounted to US$406.2 million in 2021, down from US$547.8 million in 2020.
