Many Indonesian financial technology (fintech) companies plan to increase their workforce.

This is evident from the AFTECH Annual Members Survey 2024 report released by the Indonesian Fintech Association (AFTECH).

Fintech refers to financial service businesses that utilize digital technology to make their services more efficient.

Some examples of their business models include providing online payment systems, investment management, online loan collection/disbursement, and various other digital financial services, including cryptocurrency transactions.

In April-May 2024, AFTECH surveyed 131 respondent fintech companies across all business models that have joined their association.

One of the findings is that the majority, or 65.7% of respondents, plan to increase employee recruitment in the next 1-2 years.

Furthermore, 28.2% may do the same, while only 6.1% do not plan to increase their workforce.

"All AFTECH members who plan and may add new employees will recruit employees permanently, or through a combination of outsourcing and permanent employment," said the AFTECH team in their report.

"This is a positive development in the job market, as it will create job opportunities," they continued.
