Countries with the Highest Digital Competitiveness, Denmark Achieves a Perfect Score

The Institute for Management Development (IMD) has again assessed the digital competitiveness of 63 countries worldwide in 2022.

The assessment scale is 0-100 points. Countries are ranked from most to least competitive.

Denmark ranked first with a perfect score of 100 points. IMD stated this is Denmark's first top ranking since the assessment began six years ago.

IMD added that Denmark's digital future readiness is exceptionally strong. The combination of business development and technology integration is believed to further improve its business ecosystem and macroeconomy. This was a significant factor in the research team's high scoring.

"Denmark remains one of the world's leading countries in digital talent and training, as well as education," wrote IMD in its report.

The United States ranked second with a score of 99.81 points. Sweden ranked third, also with a score of 99.81 points.

Singapore ranked fourth with 99.48 points, and Switzerland ranked fifth with 98.23 points. The remaining rankings are included in the attached graph.

IMD stated that this ranking highlights the crucial role of the state in facilitating the digital transformation of companies, both private and public, and the adoption of digital practices by society.

"A digital nation is the result of a combination of digital talent, digital regulation, data governance, digital attitudes, and capital availability," wrote IMD in its report.

The survey covered 63 countries. The ranking methodology assessed three main sectors: knowledge, technology, and future readiness. These sectors were further divided into 54 criteria or indicators.
