Bukalapak Records Rp 56.7 Trillion in Transaction Value in the First Half of 2021

PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA)'s total processing value (TPV) reached Rp 56.7 trillion in the first half of 2021. This figure represents a 54% increase compared to the same period last year, which was Rp 36.8 trillion.

Bukalapak's TPV growth was driven by a 15% increase in the number of transactions. Furthermore, this growth was supported by a 34% increase in the average transaction value (ATV).

75% of Bukalapak's TPV during the first half of this year originated from outside Indonesia's tier-1 cities. Bukalapak's management believes that the penetration of all-commerce and the digitalization trend among small retail shops outside tier-1 cities continues to show strong growth.

Partner TPV reached Rp 23.9 trillion in the first half of 2021, a 227% increase compared to the same period the previous year, which was Rp 7.3 trillion. The contribution of partners to Bukalapak's TPV increased from 22% in June 2020 to 48% in June 2021.

Bukalapak claims that this TPV growth was also supported by an increase in the number of products and services offered to its partners. A total of 8.7 million partners were registered with Bukalapak at the end of June 2021. This is an increase from 6.9 million partners at the end of December 2020.

Bukalapak's TPV trend has shown an increase since 2018. Bukalapak had a TPV of Rp 85.05 trillion throughout 2020, a 48.25% increase from the previous year's Rp 57.39 trillion.
